After a critically and commercially acclaimed sold-out premier season - as part of The Melbourne Food & Wine Festival 2024 - Gluttony: The Play, written by Nick Parr, directed by Brett Cousins, returns for a second season at The Windsor on Spring Street, Melbourne for the month of October. Presented in association with the Red Stitch Actors' Theatre.
Gluttony is about friendship, love, longing, betrayal…and outstanding food and wine.
Set in the fictional restaurant, ‘Gourmandise', a group of old friends get together for the first time in a long time.
What unfolds is a tale of lost opportunities, broken promises and the complexities of trust as the group attempt to figure out whether any of them are truly happy – and indeed, whether they are truly friends.
Written by playwright, Nick Parr and chef, Rob Kabboord (former chef-de-cuisine at Sydney’s Quay), directed by Brett Cousins and presented in association with the Red Stitch Actors' Theatre Gluttony is an immersive food-wine-and-theatre experience that seats diners among and around the performance.
There is no audience participation as members of the audience are simply voyeurs watching the story from the best seats in the house.
